Vision Statement
Throughout Jenny Hammond Primary School we strive to develop skills which can be applied in a range of sports and develop opportunities to help create athletes for now and the future. We believe that Physical Education, experienced in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, is a vital contributor to a child’s physical development and well-being. We believe that a broad and balanced P.E curriculum is essential to provide children with the skills to manage their movement in an active lifestyle and to increase self confidence. At Jenny Hammond Primary School we believe that physical education should be an area of learning where self-esteem, physical progression and positive attitudes to being active and healthy are fostered and nurtured.
At Jenny Hammond Primary School we aim to provide children with a broad and balanced P.E (Physical Education) curriculum; this follows the skills based focus of the National Curriculum and aims to:
- Develop children's love for sport and being active.
- Teach skills through sports that they will be required to use throughout life, including communication, teamwork and respect.
- Provide regular opportunities for children to compete and represent the school.
- Enable children to apply the skills they have developed into competition in school and outside of school.
- Empower children to take responsibility for their health and move forward leading healthy and active lifestyles.
